I had a beautiful apple (very expensive this year) and a half cut pear sitting in my fruit bowl. Looking at it, I got the bright idea idea that they would fun to paint in my watercolor class. I set them up on my counter with some backdrop and lighting. I photographed them and made prints for my class. My apple and pear were good subjects to teach light and shadow. The best part was making them come to life with the media of watercolor!
This is a demo I did in class to teach technique. The best way to teach someone anything is to have them watch you do it. I did this in steps....doing a little at a time, and then I had them do to the same, till we finished the painting.
